She moved on to McGill University and then spent over 8 years as the office manager, bookkeeper, editor and graphic artist for an author / teacher of self discovery. In this position, she taught volunteers office work and how to publish books and newspapers. She organized seminars in major cities in North America, and large group events such as a trip to Hawaii for 80+ people. She also assisted in moving their offices from New York to San Diego, Del Mar, Los Angeles, and Boston. At the age of 28, Teya attended computer school and worked at Harvard for six months. She then moved to San Francisco for 10 years and developed a 16-year career as a COBOL programmer. In 1995 she travelled to India and lived there for six months, then relocated to be near her family in Vancouver. Teya realized that COBOL was going the way of the dinosaur, so in 2001 she took a year-long course in Graphic Arts and Web Design. Teya then set up her own web design company "Blue Cactus Web Design." In 2004 she replaced it with another company, “Teya France Office Services,” which now focuses on phone marketing. In her spare time, Teya created EBGG - Entrepreneurs Business Growth Group (formerly Dunbar Business Circle), arranging guest speakers and member presentations on personal and business growth, and Environmental awareness. The group now has evolved into a social and activities club for networkers, as well as continuing with guest speakers.
